Traditionally solid ...
Castle floorboards as solid wood planks
Solid wood with tradition, volume and the sound created by every step – these unmistakable properties unite all solid timber chateau planks. The solid timber floors have stood the test of time for centuries and have proven to be “floors for life”, so there is a good reason why they are highly valued in the field of monument conservation.
One thing that distinguishes solid timber chateau planks is their production. They are manufactured primarily using parallel cuts sawn at falling widths. This process makes it possible to incorporate different plank widths into a given floor. Upon request and after consulting us, you can also obtain solid timber planks with consistent widths.
The planks are laid on top of sleepers or screwed directly on top of the beam structures. This traditional, time-proven manner of laying floors gives them an appealing look. Nowadays it is also possible to glue solid timber planks directly to mineral substrates, such as concrete topping.
That makes our original solid timber chateau planks unique:
You can order our original chateau planks with parallel cutting in very large widths and lengths, whether falling or consistent. The parallel cuts have allowed us to minimise the amount of sapwood. That also saves you from having to twist and turn the planks extensively. The tongues milled into our wooden planks make it possible to secure them in place very quickly.
In particular, customers prize our original chateau planks
because of how we manufacture them:
We re-finish all the planks ex-factory by hand – a true sign of quality. We repair and fill both natural cracks and cracks caused by drying, as well as any open knots, by hand. As a result, our chateau planks retain their natural and authentic character.
In popular types of wood ...
We deliver solid timber chateau planks in the types of wood that are extremely popular in Europe.
For example, the following are particularly popular:
- Oak
- Douglas fir
- Pine
- Larch
- Fir
Of course, you may also select another type of wood.
Individual planks from one trunk with unparalleled dimensions ...
All of our solid timber chateau planks are cut from a single mature trunk. That makes each of our planks truly unique, and you can obtain them in the following nearly unfathomable dimensions for the entire lengths of your rooms, especially if you choose oak or Douglas fir:
- Lengths up to 15 metres
- Thicknesses from 20 to 35 mm
- Falling widths of up to 50 cm
- Planks with consistent widths upon request
- Similar large planks are also available in pine, larch and fir
